Sonoma by SingleThread (Capella Kyoto)

We designed a series of graphic materials for Sonoma by SingleThread, the signature restaurant at Capella Kyoto, a luxury hotel in Kyoto’s historic Miyagawa-cho district. Sonoma marks the first international project by SingleThread, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant based in Sonoma, California, offering a dining experience that brings together the culture and ingredients of Kyoto with the terroir of Sonoma.

Our work included the wine menu, shopping bags, shop cards, and other graphic materials. The designs embrace a quiet, refined aesthetic suited to Capella Kyoto, while incorporating the Sonoma logo throughout to create a cohesive visual identity. The custom wine menu is crafted in genuine leather, giving it a distinctive sense of presence and luxury. Inside, a map of California evokes the landscape and origins of Sonoma, extending the restaurant’s connection to place into the graphic experience.
