TOTTEI is a mixed-use complex in Kobe, Hyogo, centered around G LION ARENA KOBE. At the tip of the complex, we were responsible for the complete branding of the BBQ facility “EN³ TOTTEI BBQ,” from naming and brand strategy to graphic, web, and signage design.
The name EN³ TOTTEI BBQ (pronounced “En Three TOTTEI BBQ”) represents three Japanese words beginning with “EN”: 炎 (flame), 縁 (connection), and 宴 (feast). Set at the leading edge of the waterfront, the name expresses the potential of the space as a place where people come together and a new food culture emerges.
The logo mark takes inspiration from the building’s distinctive large slope, one of its defining architectural features. For the visual identity, we developed a gradient combining the striking silver used throughout the interior and exterior of the architecture with blue inspired by the sea and sky, and red evoking the flames and smoke of a BBQ. The resulting visual world balances an elegant, sophisticated atmosphere with the sizzle of food and the enjoyment of a BBQ experience.
